This about sums up how I feel about the Merida changes.

I wasn’t aware of these changes and now that I am, I am extremely disappointed in Disney.

And props to the woman who did this video.

NO, NO, NO, NO. DO NOT MAKE A BIG DEAL OUT OF THIS. Yeah we get it, Merida’s a strong young woman and she’s an exemplary role model for young girls, especially if they’re more ‘tom-boyish’. But NO. This new drawing is normal.

It’s a different art style. They had to give her a makeover to help her to fit in when in line with the older princesses, just like they did with Rapunzel. Don’t forget that Mulan was strong and independent, and Disney still displays her in the dress she hated wearing. Don’t forget that Cinderella was kind and strong against all odds in a maid’s uniform, but she is always represented in a sparkly dress she only wore for one night. Don’t forget that while you are all ranting and raving about the fact that Merida shouldn’t be changed because she is a character who shows that appearances don’t make up the person… you are only reinforcing the idea that the appearance makes the person.

Not only is this picture extremely NON-sexual- she’s not wearing lingerie, for God’s sakes, it’s just a sparklier dress in a style of art more similar to the older princesses- but it’s also just a picture. It doesn’t change anything about Merida or what she means, and it will NOT change what she means to young girls who look up to her character.

In fact, the only real effect it may have would be on girls who enjoy girly things, and would enjoy being as strong as Merida WHILE wearing sparkly dresses and makeup.

So let me tell you about the shittiest parent on the motherfucking planet.

I work at a grocery store and this man comes in with his 11 year old son. He buys a pack a cigarettes and a two cases of beer. The son was holding a two dollar drawing pad and placed it on the belt and I guess the dad didn’t notice it at first but when I was about to scan the pad he asked where’d it have come from and turned towards the kid and asked “Did you put that shit up there?”. He told me to put it back and then told his 11 year old child that he “ain’t paying for that gay ass notebook.”. So I looked at the kid, who was close to tears and saying how he ran out of paper at home and my heart broke. So I gave the pad to him, for free, and told the dad I would take care of it. I gave the kid some tokens for a game outside and said I would look forward to buying some of his drawings and paintings when he’s all famous. He kids face was so priceless and I thought everything was good. But then, about 10 ten minutes after giving the kid his notebook, I walked outside and saw this. The drawing pad all ripped up and tossed on the pavement. I could only imagine what happened in the parking lot, but I know that that poor kid heart is fucking ripped apart, just like this pad.

I’m fucking horrified that there are parents like this, who, just because it’s not masculine or gender specificthey won’t let their children follow their true passions or explore interests that lead to their happiness. Even more so, I’m horrified that parents don’t care about the fine arts anymore because it doesn’t have job security. Since when did it ever matter to a child if their passion makes them money or not? Parenting is about supporting whatever makes your child happy. Have some fucking consideration for your child’s wants not your homophobic and anti-art ideals.

Hank still grabs the camera and pushes the zoom button himself while vlogging. In an age of HD video and crisp sound and Iron Man-level visual effects on YouTube, I find this encouraging.

Then Alex Day should make you happy. He has fancy equipment, but he only uses it when he feels like it. 50% of the time he just sets a cheap camera on the counter and chats to it for five minutes. And he’s incredibly successful.

Super Silky Summer Legs

Next time you are feeling down, about to binge, going on a date, or just need to pamper yourself, do this. I just did it and I can not stop rubbing my legs together. It feels like I paid for that over expensive pedicure at the salon.

Ingredients

1 1/4 C Sugar (Yup, plain, good-ol’ white sugar)

1/2 C Oil (I used olive oil, but you can use any oil, coconut oil, baby oil, canola oil)

3 tablespoons Citrus (Lime or lemon)

1-2 Razors

Mix everything together in a bowl.

Soak your legs in the tub for 5 minutes.

Shave your legs.

Rub some of this mixture all over your legs. The sugar will help rub off all dirt and dead skin. Rub, rub. Feels like a mini massage.

Rinse it all off, shave again. I would use one razor per leg if you have two. You will be rinsing this razor a lot. I was GROSSED out by the amount of dead skin I was “shaving” off. It was insane! Trust me, you’ll see.

Rub your legs again! Second coat of wax, oh yeah.

Rinse off! You can use a mild soap to help get some of the oil off.

Lotion your legs up, and feel the silkiness!

Now this isn’t just geared to ladies…. guys, if you want to get lucky, I suggest you offer to rub your ladies’ feet with this mix too. It feels awesome, and when you get lucky, you will be thanking me that her rough grandma feet aren’t cutting your legs, if ya know what I’m saying… hahaha.

I have silky arm pits too!!

Try it, I swear, You will want everyone to touch your legs.

i just did this and after about 2 or so months of not shaving this is the most incredible thing i have ever done its like my legs arent even legs they’re some sort of ancient fabric made only for powerful pharoahs

i highly suggest this even if you don’t shave use it on your feet or shave your pits or your pubes with it because you will feel like a fucking deity

So this is an absolutley brilliant idea! Just attach the plug on to a window and it will harness solar energy. A small converter will convert it into electricity which can be freely used as a plug when you are in the car, on a plane or outside.

Love this design and I really think it has a great potential.
